A Glimpse Into My Heart
Tonight I heard a song on the radio. An old song, from way back in 1992. The artist was Wayne Watson (anyone other than my parents remember him?) and the song was called “Somewhere in the World.” Its a sweet song about what he imaged the little girl was like who would grow up to marry his son, and how he was praying for her, because “one day he’ll need a godly wife.” It got me thinking….
Don’t get me wrong, fear is a God-given emotion. But that fact may be part of the reason we Christians don’t take it seriously as a problem.
Imagine. You go online and type in http://facebook.com and log-in. You see that you have over 20 notifications and get a little excited. You click to see what they are and your heart stops. God just commented on every single thing you’ve posted or done in the last week.
Where should a Christian stand on this controversial issue?
Today I’m Going to be Happy
To a child, everything is so black and white, so simple, and clean cut. But why can’t it be that way for adults, too?
Life, In Spite of Me
My review, plus some thoughts on pain and circumstances.
How Can You Not?
When I awoke this morning, I had a BBM from a friend who lives in Indonesia, telling me about the massive earthquake and tsunami.
This morning when I woke up, my first thought was, “I don’t feel like getting up.”
Always Remember. Never Forget.
God is always at work. He never does just one thing.
I’m sure you know all about Harold Camping and his rapture prediction. Here’s my response.
So where’s the line? What’s ok, and what’s not? Is drinking ok? Smoking? Junk food?
Where was God when tragedy struck on 9/11? He was on the throne.
And So We Mourn…

The power God gives to do what God says – I know it firsthand.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
I love mysteries! I also hate mysteries. Sometimes I wish God would just let me read the end of my story now.
Religion & Jesus
It’s a common thing in our day and age for Christians to bash religion. Here’s where I stand.
What awesome hope that we don’t have to be our family tree. We can be different. But not because of us; because of Jesus. Jesus can break the chains of our past. Of our family. Of our history. Jesus can set us free. He can change our lives. Will you let Him?
Helping or Hurting?
How far is too far? When does helping your friend cause harm to yourself? Or even possibly to your friend? Maybe your friend’s problem is something simple, like slipping cuss words every now and then, or being rude to his parents. Or maybe she has a bigger problem like sleeping around or using drugs or alcohol. Either way, good intentions are not good enough.
Spring is a beautiful time of year, and daffodils always mark its coming for me. But now I have an even greater reason to be excited and feel a twinge when I see the daffodil peeking through the ground…
I have a list. It’s not what I ate today. It’s not my shopping list. It’s not all the stuff I have to do today. It’s not even of books I want (though I have one of those!). It’s what I’m looking for in a guy. Do you have one? I think every girl has a mental list of what she wants. Blonde hair, blue eyes, 6 feet tall. But what about the other stuff? I want you to help you make a list, right now.
A Lily Among Thorns
I once saw a cartoon of a pastor at his pulpit with a paper back over his head, with holes cut out for his eyes and mouth. A man in the front pew whispered to his neighbor, “Uh oh, looks like the Pastor’s going to preach on Song of Solomon agai
